Todd McFarlane is one of the most popular and controversial comic book creators ever. He established his popularity in the late 80's drawing Marvel superhero books as The Incredible Hulk and The Amazing Spider-Man. Then in the early 1990's, in a uproarious and unprecedented move McFarlane and a few of the hottest Marvel creators stopped doing Marvel books and formed their own company, Image Comics. Riding a new wave of popularity for comic books Image rolled out book after book which broke records...
Nice. I've been an indie comic geek guy since, errr, damn, 1982 ...fuck, I'm old! I was around for the beginning of Image and the beginning (and end) of about 100 other indie publishers. Having gone through all these many years of reading and hearing about the man - sometimes I really like Todd, sometimes I'm just indifferent. The weird thing, I guess, is that I don't know shit about the Spawn story. I've seen plenty of Todd's art though and I would be WAY super down for some crazy elf fantasy stuff, or, ya know, just something weird from Todd that wasn't Spawn. I'm so incredibly anti-superhero that it was even hard for me to get into the anti-hero as superhero. So I'd be jazzed if he busted out with something else.
Nice interview as always, but Todd's not really a difficult interview these days. lol
I <3 TM!!! Oml! He is my hero.
Spawn is a fucking hard ass.
You don't fuck with someone that is 7'0 and has chains.
You just don't!
