My girlfriend makes fun of me for all the shit in my car. Flares, tire reinflating foamy stuff, oil, battery jumper AND jumping cables, Rescue emergency fuel, gloves, extra coat, blanket, towels, fuses, and so on and so on.

And she doesn't even have AAA. That girl's going to be the death of me.

Also, I carry keep my Gerber, knife, and Sharpie either in my car or on me. And a bottle opener. And corkscrew. Because you never know. The bottle opener's actually really neat. Goes in the wallet. It's just a piece of metal with a eye-shaped hole in it. Got it from Marlboro for my birthday.

I'll one up ya there. I carry most of that, a two ton hydraulic jack, a 4-way, an electric tire-inflator, bungee cables, sometimes trany fluid, an umbrella, a flashlight, a cell-phone charger, and an MRE under the passenger seat. But I'm sure most of that was covered in the "so on and so on." biggrin

Swiss army knife smile
Disposable handwarmers
bandaids
small flashlight
a couple AA batteries
.. are always in my purse
This thread reminded me, I think I'll put a lighter in there, too.

Lots of other stuff in the car. Wool blanket, flares, spare tire in a can, ponchos, rope and bungees, another knife, big flashlight, water, usually some canned tuna or something... a few other things.

I thought this thread was going to be about those times you're about to go out and try to take a shit even though you don't necessairly have too, ya know, just in case.

Hmm, I guess I should clean out my trunk and toss together a kit of stuff like you guys have mentioned. Maybe throw in a couple fan belts and some tools as well.

You should leave your Social Security Card at home, though. I used to do the exact same thing, but if you lose that thing it is seriously a ridiculous pain in the ass to get a new one, and could lead to identity theft.

yep. after losing my wallet which contained my health card, social security card, and provincial ID, I would present my passport as proof I was of age for beer and cigarettes, which I promtly lost. So I continued happilly without a passport or ID, except for being barred from some bars even though I was 23 and 24. Of course everywhere I was a regular it was no problem. But now I want to go back to Europe and the lack of ID is a bitch and a thorn in my side.
