would you choose between a REALLY nice apartment, about 35 minutes away from where you work, that would allow you to have the pet that you love live with you, or would you choose the ones that are right across the street, but no pets allowed, and it's not as nice, but still live-in-a-ble? and yes, they're both pretty much the same price. the nicer one is 10 dollars more a month, but i mean they're REALLY nice!

which one and why? you can help me make my decision.

Do you walk, take the bus, or drive to work?

One cannot define an existence by friends, pets, or loved ones, yer in this world for you and because of YOU. My other reason for choosing the closer route, is pure gas needs, commuting sucks not only because of traffic but because out here, gas is like nearly three dollars a gallon. puke

Go for the closer route, and best of luck either way.

No faster route? How do you go, express way? Well either way, I think if you like the area of the nice appartment as well, you should live there. Plus jobs come and go, pet's are like best friends. What I mean is, I'd rather give in to the drive to work than give up my pet. The only real down side is the gas, but as long as you don't have terrible mileage.

Too close to work, means work is always in your life - hard to draw boundaries. When work people know they will call on you constantly and run into you all the time.... commute - have a life with a pet.

the thing about my pet is.. god damn, he's irreplacable. his name is maestro, he's my kitty, he says 'mom' (no joke) and he eats his food with his paw. yes, picks each piece up one by one and puts it in his mouth. he's a damn smart cat, but a pain in the ass when he's getting into stuff at night. i love him, so i think i may go with the bigger apartments, but i know commuting is a bitch, especially with the hours we work, because we work all through the day, with no time for anything else except sleep.

You should live in the place 35 minutes away.
1) it is nicer
2) it may be safer
3) pets are good for your mental health and thats worth more than the price of gas.
4) your friends will be jealous

That is definately a good point to be taken into account.

I'd choose the commute. A half hour is completely reasonable. And I agree with BigGucciPanda; it's good to have some sense of distance between you and your work. Plus, I wouldn't give up my dog. frown

it is DAMN safer.
and there are soundproof walls and floors... hehe...
and my friends will be DAMN jealous.

on the other hand, they all live right down the street from where the other apartment is, and they probably won't make it by my other apartment. unless i bribe them with alcohol.
i know.. what friends.

I would keep looking for a closer place that allows pets, personally. There's gotta be something, unless you need to move out on really short notice.

I'm moving from a live-in-able apartment to a nice one right now because I wanted my furry friend. And I'm tired of settling for less. I deserve quiet neighbors and walls that aren't made of painted bricks!

You know what's sad? After not drinking for a LONG time, I had one drink yesterday (one of those flavored Smirnoff things) and was buzzed for three hours. tongue blackeyed

But again, choose quality.
