Check out Le Dernier Combat (The Last Battle). One of his early films. Post apocalyptic setting, sparse dialogue, great cinematography.
Nikita and Leon are probably his strongest works.

"The Last Battle" is one I have been coveting for quite some time but places like Blockbuster and Hollywood video do not have cool stuff like that. I will continue my search though.

i was lucky enough to attend the big movie premiere of fifth element. i met besson in the lobby afterwards and shook his hand becuase i really liked the flick. he seemed very worried. his hands were as a rough a steel town girl's!!!!!

I think if I had made that movie I'd be crapping myself at the premier too.
Did it do well at all money-wise?
An awesome movie, but probably expensive, and probably a little too odd to do well.

Leon: The Professional is a work of art.... so timeless

I read about him wanting to do a Mathilda sequel.... could be interesting...

I've seen pics for his new movie.... shot in black and white
