I know that everyone here has seen at least one of his movies. Granted he is only the producer of most of these films but every single one of these films is a masterpiece in its own rite. I first caught onto Luc with "Leon: The Professional." Anyone who has watched it knows that it's one of the greatest movies of all time. Even his lesser work like "The Transporter" (which I freakin' loved) shows a good amount of talent from everyone involved with the film. In case you aren't familiar with his work, or just don't know that you are, here is a list of his more popular movies released in the United States.

Unleashed (aka, Danny The Dog)
High Tension (not credited. I actually did not like this one)
Ong Bak (not credited)
The Transporter (1 & 2)
Kiss Of The Dragon
The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc
The Fifth Element
Leon: The Professional
La Femme Nikita

If you have not seen all of these movies, I would definitely recommend that you give them a look. You will notice through all of them the similarities in cinematography and style. Other than that, you'll just be outright entertained.

Edit: Spelling. I really need to proofread BEFORE I click submit

Oh.... and Fifth Element and The Messenger... who wouldn't love 'em? Milla Jovovich.... just hot damn. Remember her from that movie with Christian Slater named "Kuffs"?

You forget the *original* French version of Taxi, if you have not seen that stop reading this, go and buy a copy and watch it now.

He also wrote the sequel Taxi 2.

Plus you forget his International breakout movie Nikita.

But yeah. The man's got an excellent head on his shoulders and I respect his work more the more he does.

I had no idea The Transporter was going to turn into what it did.
I was marvelously surprised.

And The Fifth Element and The Professional?
Some great, great stuff.

No I didn't. The US release title for that file was "La Femme Nikita"

whyd u skip over all his films before la femme?

I'm still learning about this guy. I know more than the average schmuck but not everything yet. IMDb is sorta letting me down on this one, too. I'd appreciate any information I don't have.

I couldn't agree more.. I have always loved and appreciated Besson's movies... He should actually direct more, because his eye is fantastic.. BTW (someone may have pointed it out already) but your forgot "Big Blue" With Rosana Arquette and Jean Reno.. Story about Free Divers in the Greek islands... an early Besson film.. brilliant!

Yep, yep he sure is. Best way to find out what he's done is to find a bio on him, that should list all his work. IMDB is so-so when it comes to this sort of thing.

I didn't see "Big Blue" and I didn't know it was his. But if those two are in it and Besson did it I'm going to go rent it very soon.

Thanks

What was the one he did in the 80s, a post-holocaust thing with no speech at all? Lots of ruined cars and dodgy leather armour.

I also love Luc Besson. La Femme Nikita is one of my favourite movies of all time. I still have to see more of his earlier work and the director's cut of The Professional.
