Do you believe in astrology? How far does your belief go? Sun signs? Daily horoscopes? How often to you make decisions influenced by your beliefs?

I believe 100% in them.....not daily horoscopes and such but in your sun sign, moon sign etc. It gives you a general idea about the person, sorta like a per judgement but you never really know the whole scoop unless you know there birth chart.

I have been following astrology all my life and believe in it ALOT. It's one of the only things that have scientfic proof that it exists.

I make alot of my decisions based on someones sign but like I said you can only go so far knowing only the sun sign.

You are in about the same place that I am. I am certain that sun signs hold up to scutiny. The math works.

Really, could you link to some? I've never heard of any, but that doesn't necessarily mean there is none.

Oh, and this is funny. From the TV Guide one for Libra:

Monday, January 23, 2006
Don't let those who have an unremittingly negative outlook on life destroy your optimistic mood. Yes, there are many bad things that go on out there but overall this is still a marvelous world and there are still limitless possibilities to be exploited and enjoyed. Others can look on the dark side if they choose but you will be smiling.

Tuesday, January 24, 2006
The Sun in your fellow Air sign of Aquarius will bring opportunities aplenty over the next few weeks, so stop feeling sorry for yourself and start smiling again. Venus, your ruler, may be moving retrograde at the moment but there is no reason why you should be looking back or going back the way you came. The future is where it's at.

Ri-ight. It gets worse too:

Friday, January 27, 2006
An offer that looks too good to be true most likely is, but because you don't want to be left behind you may decide to risk it. A few days from now you will undoubtedly regret it, especially when Sunday's new moon brings an even better offer your way, so call on all your reserves of willpower and give it a miss. You'll be glad you did.

Saturday, January 28, 2006
A new moon in your fellow Air sign of Aquarius this weekend means you can afford to take risks: the bigger the better. Once you have tasted success, however limited, you will be inspired to push further and faster and there really is no limit to what you can accomplish. Personally and professionally anything is possible, so shoot for the moon.

I think Sally Brompton is snickering to herself as she writes these.

i know this gay dude, mike, who believes in it a great deal. hes always asking ahat certain people are whe you describe them to him. scary part is, he will say, "what is she a sagitarius?" or whatever, and a large portion of the time, hes right.

its also rather peculiar that every girl i become seriously involved with is either a gemini or a sagitarius. the only exceptions were two scorpios and a pisces.

Astrology is total bullshit. People choose the parts of a horoscope or star chart that they feel apply to them and convieniently ignore the parts they don't feel apply, or translate the parts they don't feel apply to somehow mean something to them.

i believe in the totality of astrology. which means, that i believe in it's study and its' systems and teachings. i believe in the birth chart, which is a total summation of the alignment or misalignment and placement of the planets and moons at your time and place of birth. that would also include the daily horoscope.
but, within the daily horoscope are other meanings and it just really goes much deeper than most people even know.

Not only is there no scientific proof for it, there's scientific proof against it.

OH
MY
GOD....

"One of the only things that have scientific proof?" There are so many problems with that statement, I don't even know where to begin.

No, it has not been scientifically proven. It has actually been scientifically DISproven. As a matter of fact, it's a required part of my science curriculum that I teach why it is a pseudoscience and not an actual science.

WOW.

I suppose if I can believe in a man who walked on water, raised the dead, cured disease, and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father, I can believe that being born in November makes me a good lover.

Although Isaac Asimov told me that it's all bullshit, on account of the changes in the alignment of heavenly bodies over the last two thousand years.

But what does Isaac Asimov know?

Horoscopes are BS......but astrology isnt, people never really go deep enough into it to see if anything applies to them, and some stuff doesnt and when it doesnt there is a reason for it, some stuff you have to ignore, like if it says you should be a musican, but your born with no hands, then you never know that if you had hands you would have been one........ (i hope that made sense lol)

well there are stars in the sky........and there are many MANY people who believe in things that are not scientifically proven (astro is a science) people can prove certain things about everything and there is always someone out there that can disprove what the other says.......back to the bible deal......no one can prove anything in that book and people disprove it everyday, but when people bring up astro its like your talking witch craft come on people.
