staight edge = the new black?

Punks, goths, edgers, wiggers, etc.

Each and every single one of these lifestyles, like ALL lifestyles has people who set the trends, people who follow, and people who deviate.

As a self-proclaimed (and raised) punk, I have my own views on "What is punk". To me, being punk is a state of mind. And one of the most "Anti-Punk" things you can do is discriminate, and make punk a competition. There are kids with fauxhawks out there who say they are "Punk 'til Death!" but listen to Simple Plan and Good Charlotte and like garbage. These people just need to do their homework.

It's when you become part of a lifestyle, then become a fascist that you should immediately remove yourself from that lifestyle. It's fascists like this that make ANY lifestyle look bad.

Edge to prep to goth to glam, nothing's worse than people who discriminate.

Just fucking accept people. Instead of punishing ignorance, educate.

But at the same time, be a dick to dicks. Fuck some shit up if they're fucking your shit up. Like this kid who "hits girls and spits on drunk kids"... Knock him down. Put him in his place. He doesn't seem like the type to listen to reason. But do it only because it's what he does. Fire with fire.

However an eye for an eye and we'd all be blind...

I just try to get along with everyone, edgers as well as the sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads--and they all think I'm a righteous dude, too.

and does your boyfreind know his entire medical history..because by your own standard, if he was ever admistered any kind of over the counter cold medication, he can't be edge.
see...that's the problem with using absolutes like "always", "never" and that goddamned ridiculous "true til death/if you're not now, you never were" shit. there are no absolutes (and the vodka is spelled with an "e" for all you smartasses out there, but i love you anyway).
who are you do define who is and isn't anything? i keep edge, after my own alcoholism and drug addictions....for myself, and by myself. it's not a fucking culture, it's a group of people with similiar ideas in certain areas...but vastly different attitudes in respect to their world views.

I'm 19, and I smoked in 6th grade for like 2 weeks, but after that never smoked, or drank or did drugs. I started claiming edge my freshman year of highschool, and I'm not about to stop calling my self edge because the majority of straight edge kids can be assholes.

I lived in phoenix for 8 years and they have x24x there. I witnessed them beat some kid up. I was disgusted but I am not going to let them change who I am. Can you truthfull say that you would let someone elses actions change your beliefs? I know I wouldn't.

Saying that all straight edge kids are assholes is absurd. That's the same as saying all Muslims are terrorists. It's an insult to straight edge kids who don't beat people up for disagreeing with your beliefs.

I'm a non-practicing straight-edger.

I was going to say it's mainly a christmas and easter thing, but I generally get loaded on christmas.
