I was watching the new show "Love Monkey" on CBS tonight and I thought it was pretty funny and insightful...kinda reminded me of "High Fidelity" for yuppies but still good...and that means it will get cancelled inside of about 2 months. Usually overly thoughful shows with good acting get cancelled...or so it seems.

Anyways, what TV shows that are no longer on air do you miss or wish had never been cancelled in the first place?

Mine: "Action" with Jay Mohr. This show was so far ahead of its time...it was friggin hilarious, great acting, great story and it had kind of a vile humor to it, which I think would definitely succeed nowadays, but a few years back (when it was time slotted against WWE wrestling and "Friends"!) it just didn't catch on.

viva variety. sometimes i feel like i'm the only person who ever watched this show. maybe not as good as the state, but just as memorable to me, at least.

also soon to be scrubs and arrested development, most likely. and if anyone cares, fox announced cancellation of that 70's show and malcolm in the middle today.

I just recently finished watching all of the episodes of Firefly after seeing the movie and I have to say, by the end of it I was hooked, I can only imagine how much better it could have gotten if it had continued and characters developed.

YOu can see that while watching it. The quality is amazing. Every episode felt like it was filmed with a movie budget. I imagine the studio got pretty nervous at the expenditure.

I always feel like there's a difference between a show reaching the end of its almost 10 year run versus being cancelled. Arrested Development - cancelled. 70 Show= a good long run, it's time to put 'er down folks. There's only so many stories you can tell and people get tired after a while.

Firefly and futurama for me.

judging by the rate the firefly DVDs are selling, the network execs best be considering hanging themselves.

Sports Night. All the actors have now moved on to other award-winning shows; The West Wing, Six Feet Under, Desperate Housewives; but I still secretly hope they all came back to this one show.

Freaks & Geeks

NewsRadio (but only if you revive Phil Hartman)

X-Files (before the 7th season), and more than that, The Lone Gunmen. It sucks we only got one season of this show, I thought it was a great spin-off. They didn't even let them do a finale. Lame.

I miss watching Quantum Leap, yet watching reruns the show no longer appeals to me. I think it's because I was never satisfied with the series finale, and the fact that Sam never got back home. That's just fucked up.

I wish Ed had a couple more seasons.

Seinfeld sucked the final year, but I still wish there were new episodes.

A bunch more, the saddest thing in the world is going through my TiVo's "Season Pass" list, and seeing all the shows that are now listed as "no upcoming showings", and knowing it's gonna stay that way. It's hard to delete those off my list.
