CULTURE: Back to the Futurama?

In the same way that repeats and DVD sales brought Family Guy back from the dead, Fox are now staring to look at bringing back the much loved yet cancelled Futurama, according to sources including Variety.

Comedy Central has that much faith in it that they paid $400,000 an episode, a record for that network. Futurama managed three Emmy awards during its five season run (pretty confusing as there are only four DVD box sets available), and was the ultimate middle ground between the serious starch science fiction and the humour of The Simpsons. Before the show comes back, the voice stars must return, with Leela (Katey Segal) now starring in 8 Simple Rules, although appearing in Huff hasn't affected Hank Azaria's commitment to The Simpsons. The possibility of return gets HecklerSpray a little too excited.

And, hey if it doesn't come to pass, well, you can bite Bender's shiny metal ass.

YES! Futurama makes Family Guy look like something I could write or draw.

What's so confusing about putting two seasons in one box set? That's what they did with Family Guy.

YAY. I would enjoy that. It's a much better show than Family Guy.

Yah, but Family Guy Volume 1 says "Seasons 1 and 2" The Futurama boxes are labeled, "Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, and Season 4" when there were 5 seasons apparently.

That would be amazing, but I wish Fox didn't still have the rights. I say bring it back on Cartoon Network.

They're also supposed to be coming out with a couple Futurama movies. I think they're going to be like an hour long and go straight to dvd.... I wonder if they're still going to do them now that the show may be picked back up.

gotta nerd it up for a second, futurama is very near and dear to my heart...
there were 5 production seasons but those were translated into 4 broadcast seasons, since like you said they were spread out. PLUS they were always being ruined by the end of football games overlapping
