Does anyone ever do this? Our selection of non-Tequila Mezcals in NC is pretty piss-poor, so I'm thinking of ordering online. Supposedly you can make custom orders to the NC ABC board, but it's by the case.

Doing a search on Google I come up with a few different places, but I'd just like to know if anyone has experience with any of them.

My only experience would be ordering Absinthe online from France. No problems, and according to the customs paperwork it was "printed media".... Strongest book I've ever drank.

I know I've bought wine from a place online that also sells liquor, and they were great. When I can remember the name of the site, I'll let you know.

edit: they only ship spirits within NY state, sorry.

I haven't myself but I know many people who buy from bevmo.com and have good luck with them. Some of them use other various sites as well. The shipping is what kills you, though.

Tequila doesn't have a worm in it. It's Mezcal marketing bullshit.

Unfortunately BevMo won't ship outside of CA. frown

I have used a website called Hi Time Wine Cellars. Hitimewine.com. They seem to have a big selection.

All of the places that seem reputable only ship within their state lines.

As far as I know, shipping across state lines to someone not licensed to sell it is illegal bootlegging.

Not in all states. It varies.

I too did the absinthe thing - went just fine - I really can't believe you can't find a good product near you though - how about talking to a place and see if they'll special order something?

The NC ABC can special order, but you have to buy a whole case. Keep in mind that in NC, liquor is state-run. We don't have "Liquor Stores" like you see in California. Haven't been to FL, so I'm not sure how it works there.

Yeah, Patron for some reason is really fucking expensive here. Cazadores used to be similar - about $45 for a 750ml bottle of the Reposado, but it dropped to $35. Suits me just fine, since it's my fave!

I need to just take a trip to stock up. How many cases of Tequila can you load into a car before the border folks start looking at you funny? shocked

Yeah, that's the first place I looked - but it's soooooo shady looking. They're dealing in liquor and they can't afford to have their transaction system in-house? C'mon.
