Might I ask WHY the bottom of your foot?

anywhere below the knee.
wrists.
ribs.
back of neck.
some people's tummies.
soft parts of arm.

Even without considering the pain, it seems like a poor place to get a tattoo. That area usually has some really thick skin, and would be heavily used, so anything you get there would look horrible after a couple of years. You might alsw want to check BME. I'm sure someone has done somthing like that and would be a bit more informed about it.

If you get a tat on your foot, do what they say and DO NOT WEAR YOUR SHOES for a bit. My roommate just got a tat on the side of her foot, and now it's all fuckered up because she wore shoes whatever

That seems like it would hurt,

Everywhere Dia said, plus on your spine and elbows. Anywhere on bone pretty much sucks,

the skin on the bottom of the foot is too thick for the ink to get into the dermis which is where it needs to be to stay and be permanent . Same as knuckles and elbows . PLUS the fact that the foot is mostly humid ( sweaty ) and the skin regenerates at a high rate , make it a pretty bad choice for a place to put a tattoo .

You got lucky. A lot of people who are heavily tattooed will bitch a lot through that one.

the throat is the most painful.

especially when you use a knife and smear the ink in.

i always thought the collarbone would be the most painful, b/c it's bony and the skin tends to be a little thin there...

but, i could be wrong...

the one on my back was definitley the most painful...it was done to cover up a birthmark, though, so i'm wondering if maybe that area was a little more sensitive, b/c of the mark... the one on my ankle didn't bother me as much...

i've always thought it would be cute to have a tattoo on the bottom of my big toe...

i have one on my lower back, back of my neck, and above my ankle... and i didnt think any of them hurt at all... it all depends on the person. i have a high tolerance for pain so i am not bothered by them at all.

When I got my tattoo, a friend of mine got one at the same time, but very low on her ankle, and the artist told us that anywhere the skin has no hair (i.e. bottom of foot, side of ankle, etc.) is harder to tattoo and also is more likely to fuck itself up later.

I dated/hung out with/slept with a guy who had blue flames tattooed on his weenie. he also had a 4 gauge PA. I think he had no pain sensors. but I'm still wondering about the weenie tattoo.....

The CHODE! (aka Taint, Gooch, whatever)

I dunno for sure, but i imagine it being really painful. I got tripped in a hockey game, and slid into the goal post Chode first. Boy that hurt.

Yeah I really think it differs from person to person. my wrists and elbow hurt but the inside of my arm didn't hurt at all. Sternum sucked, calves were ok, ankle wasn't bad lower back was a little uncomfortable. the palm of my hand sucked but didn't seem like much because of the four hours spent on my elbow just minutes before. back of the neck isn't bad but the sides, throat and chin I hear suck. Hands and feet have some of the most nerve endings and are also a different kind of skin than the rest of your body plus they're used alot more than some body parts = more pain + tattoos wear away fast (feet faster than the hand). Talk to the artist, even if he/she doesn't haver a foot tat he/she probably has seen or heard of someone who has one so may have heard of the sensations.

So the search actually works.

I have a tattoo on my left hip (didn't hurt at all), the base of my spine (hurt so much) and lower back above my waist (wasn't really bad).

I'm going to end up with 6 more but I'm not too sure where to get them. What's the pain level on the pubic bone? Back of neck? Below bellybutton?

Where was your most painful and least painful tattoos?

The back of my neck didn't hurt that much for me. It only really hurt when it was behind my ears.
