It's bullshit, mostly.

I met Dave at the Cincinnati Airport when he was coming back from South Africa where I used to work. He was relaxed and down to earth and funny and basically told my fellow coworker and I that he halted the show's production because Comedy Central was interfering with production and was trying to censor some of the sketches in the show. He said that he planned to do the show on another network (like Showtime) where he didn't have to keep fighting the network's censorship. He also admitted to having run out of material for sketches that could get cleared by the network. He also said that he missed doing live stand up.
The Network may have been receiving pressure from outside sources like this coalition, but the truth is Chappelle halted production for a multitude of reasons besides some cabal of affluent blacks.

edited -- because I also forgot to mention that Chappelle said he went to South Africa to do a benefit that had been scheduled months in advance. He said Comedy Central was responsible for all of the stories and rumors about the drug use and going into an asylum

I thought it was cancelled before, too. But I saw some show on CC yesterday...Big Laugh something...I dunno. Anyway, they had a lot of comedians on and they were talking about Season 3. Maybe that was a re-run.

Absolute Bullshit. The show was an open parody and joke to all races. Racism is hatred towards other races. It's what most dumbass people don't know. I grew up with every colored kid on the block in a slum neighborhood next to Boston. Growing up, we joked about each other, even all through high school we cracked jokes about our races, stereotype shit etc. Did we ever once fight? Did we ever once make seperate gangs over the jokes? No, did we become better friends? Did we grow together and share each other's hardships and joys? Hell yes. Who were the racist ones? The jocks and preppy kids saying what this article said; racists jokes make racism. Yet the people who say that are all white stuck up pricks.
Yeah, I'm sure every African American is pissed at Chapelle for being a success. I'm sure it pissed them all off how ever race of people watched the show (mostly white). I'm sure it pissed em off how it caused so much hate in this country towards one another... err wait, it didn't, that's right.

Comedy central is doing a season 3 with the film that they had taped for it, but Chapelle will not be there introducing each sketch like the other seasons. Also I don't know how much input he had in the post production of the sketches of the new stuff.

Bahaha! That was hilarious. If only the "Dark Crusaders" could actually be that organized. Too bad each of them have egos and personalities much too big to work together.

-Well, it's a well known fact, Sunny Jim, that there's a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as "The Pentaveret", who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as "The Meadows."

-So who's in this Pentaveret?

-The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went tits up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with his wee *beady* eyes! And that smug look on his face, "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"

I picture a massive chamber containing a semi-circle of tall thrones. Upon each throne is seated an African-American individual, shrouded in shadow, their features outlined by bright lights emanating from behind them, each a member of a secret cabal of black leaders who influence the world from on-high, dictating the future of their race on this Earth.

*ac-CHOO*

Just because your able to differentiate between a joke meant to point out the absurdity of a particular stereotype, and something meant to be racist, doesn't mean everyone exposed to the show can do the same thing. Your particular experiences telling jokes to a group of friends very close to you, is much different than a similar joke being broadcast to millions of people.

Thought is never a nuisance as the cause of dumb people doing dumb things. Freedom of expression is the easiest way to fight ignorance, the real cause of most racism, violence, poverty, health problems, general crime and apathy.
