TFOG and I have just bought the DVDs and been working our way through them.

Hilarity has ensued. And I've sold Blacklamb on the wonder of the series. She is now a convert.

I hope it keeps on going. Wonderful stuff.

Well, here is to hoping.

Both ABC and Showtime have had conversations with 20th Century Fox TV and indicated they're open to making a deal for new episodes of the critically beloved, Emmy-winning comedy from creator Mitch Hurwitz. No formal negotiations have taken place, and there are still numerous hurdles that might prevent such a move -- including the show's hefty pricetag.
...
The trade says that Fox has already deficited millions in order to produce the show, which costs about $1.6 million per half-hour to produce. It's believed Fox deficits about $400,000 per episode.

yea that was pretty lame.
i figure, they've already payed for whatever was shot for season 3, even if they cancel it, they might as well show what they filmed and then sell it on DVD

i cant belive why they wanted to cancel it anyways, one of the best show on tv,or fox for that matter, guess they needed more time for O.C. or some shit like that.
it would be sweet for it to go to showtime, showtime is starting to have some half way descent shows(Sleeper Cell),so it would be good for them.

Sports Night was supposed to get picked up by HBO and then ABC didn't let them out of their contract. I remain skeptical and will do so until I see an official announcement.

In all fairness from a business standpoint this show is a money pit. It costs them tons of money and it airs to piss poor ratings.

And I am a HUGE fan. It's a shame that it never found a big audience.

FOX would let em out. It's a matter of other networks wanting to pick up the cost.

sure, but you would think that a station like FOX could stand to take a hit every once in a while to endure a show that got(and won some) 11 fucking emmy nominations in its first year!

i mean, seinfeld wasnt a cash cow in its first couple of years...

is it just me or did the show totally blow this season. maybe putting it on a different channel will somehow improve it, but i somehow doubt it.

i don't know how it managed to go from my favourite show on tv to something i maybe watch because there is nothing else on, so quickly.

I think its had some really entertaining moments in this season.
I definately wouldnt say it blew, maybe not upto the same form it was in season 1 and 2 but enjoyable none the less.

i think they were trying to make it more popular.
thats just a stab in the dark though.

i mean the second season was the funniest season of any show, ever, in my book, so they definately changed something
