Legendary comedian Richard Pryor died late Friday night/early Saturday morning of a heart attack. He was 65, and had been suffering from the effects of multiple sclerosis for years, which had led to him vanishing from public sight.

Pryor's one biggest contribution to comedy will probably be seen his willingness to broach topics of race in a far more audacious, and confrontational, manner than any comedian before him. But more generally speaking, he will be seen as one of the all-time greats.

I loved his comedy when I was an adolescent and it was considered offensive. Too bad about the MS and I am sure that the years of drug and alchohol abuse did not help.

What about his recent comedy special "I aint dead yet!"

That is very sad about his death, he was a great comedian. His stuff is still funny after all this time, classic shit.
