Hey, wait a second. I was never questioning whether or not this could be reported as news, it just seemed bizarre to me to make a news report out of a bad Wikipedia edit. I knew it was news because you linked it in your first post. The fallout of the whole thing didn't seem monstrous - the sites that were stupid enough to pick up the story were contacted, a whiny column was placed in USA Today, and some guy nobody gave two shits about before got name recognition. Like I said, I wouldn't be happy about it either, but on the whole, it doesn't seem so bad.
Either way, if I could do it over again, I wouldn't have written that phrase - it's fucking annoying, and I'm sorry. But the main thrust of my post I stand by.
