Our First Dog

So during Thanksgiving Dinner, I casually mentioned that popcorn and I wanted to get a dog when we get a new place. Well my sister jumped on that, "I've got a dog you can have!" Her neighbor's dogs had puppies, and she got one, only to find that he's a jumper. She doesn't have time to train him, having three kids -- one a toddler and the other a newborn. Not the ages you want to have a dog jumping on.

Anyway, so he's a pure-bred beagle with the slightly unusual blue-tick coloration, about six-months old. We renamed him Sirius, after the star and the werewolf. He's the first dog either of us have ever had since we moved out from our parent's homes. He's very sweet, of course, with a lot of personality. He "talks" -- lots of grunts and hmmphs and garumphs and whines.

I was hoping this thread was going to be about a new reality show where people get what they think is their first dog, but it really turns out to be a giant rat.

hehehe...nice dog! beagles tend to be talkers...more so when they get excited....but! once you get them trained they are unbelievably loyal and obedient....have fun!

Awwww. I had a beagle when I was a kid and he was a great dog. He got hit by a car though.
