Alright, so since my mom is going to be in Boston for most of the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I've taken the holiday decoration job. The other option would be to let her buy a fake tree, put up a wreath and call it a day, which my sister would kill me for when she gets home.

So what do I do? What's the Next Big Thing in Christmas decoration? I remember about five or seven years back seeing the one guy with the light strings hanging down like icicles, and all of the sudden it blows up and everyone has it. What's the next icicles?

I love my fake tree. It's the ultimate in fakeness, being white with fiber optic tips. The whole holiday season sucks so much shit you might as well at least enjoy yourself with your decor.

Well that's just... great, there, Clara. Just... uh... great. Thanks for your... uh... contribution, there...

Yeah.

Last year Urban Outfitters had disco ball tree ornaments.

When I was younger and had my own small tree, I used spray on snow one year. Most years I placed fruit flavored candy canes on my tree.

Out here, everyone has those stupid metal deer dipping their wiry faces into a 'stream' of blue lights. puke

So yeah, don't do that.

St_Expedite turned her Christmas tree upside down and mounted it to the ceiling last year, if I remember things correctly.

See, now, I respect the Thanksgiving border. They light Public Square here in Cleveland on the Saturday after, and that's good enough for me.

We don't have that in the UK so until the first door on my advent calendar is open I'm Scroogetastic.

Bah. Humbug.

At least in the UK, seconded. Death to all advertisers who use Santa or snow in ads before December 1st!

AirWick, that means you!

You don't regularly get snow in October?

I think the trend this year is the upside down, fake Christmas tree that hangs from the ceiling, but that's just stupid.

Wow, we have the metal deer (which is stupid. We're already over populated with deer. we don't really need fake ones), but no streams of blue lights. That sounds horrible.
