Yeah, I had heard that he had made a few public appearances, but then i read somewhere that he hadn't, i guess that was obvious misinformation. I have heard him on a radio show a few years back and he spoke so softly, He has also answered every e mail i've sent him but that doesn't really say anything, except that he's rad. I don't think its an act, but then again i really don't want to think its an act. What was he like in person? he is a very intriguing creature to me.
Like I said, it was just a hello at the reading, but like you said: Almost silent, he was so soft--hard to see how someone like that could pull off a hoax, but maybe that person wasn't pulling off the hoax. I don't know.
It's a crazy story. I like it. No matter what the "truth" is. It's made me pick up "The Heart is Deceitful" again...
Whether those experiences are autobiographical or fiction has never really bothered me because the work stands on its own. While reading it you really don't question its validity. It's so intensely personal that it takes a huge talent to convey that feeling so directly
But yeah I will admit he definitely is an intruiging character.
