Lost, forgotten,misplaced,torn,beaten,empty without a place.

A life, a single life, an entity distant and away.

A time when one felt true, true to their own life.

The piano is always playing a melody of blues.

As it lingers past my ears as I continue to walk the steps on this path.

As of what life is, a road of my past, a road of my future.

A sweet sound that soothes my bitter tattered soul.

I open up the doors, so many doors, closed from the days of my past, memories that scare me to my chilling bones.

As wind breaks the barrier that holds the hinges to the door, gusting wind circles past.

As I step through the darkness and face my fears for what's outside.

A field of liquid light, grass swaying in the wind in a rhythmic way.

Over and over I see this world filled with the endless valleys and plains of forest on the edges of nowhere.

The piano plays on, distant in the background, should I follow.....

The tips of tides smash the sides of this world, waves that are made with a single tear drop.

Endless rain, Endless sadness, Endless day that this piano plays a melody of blues for this life that is so lost and confused.

The End

Wow.

I'd make fun of it, but you'd probably put a curse on me or something.

Not that I believe in that shit.

Don't feel bad though, you might win some kind of award on this site.

Is it wrong that when I went to open this thread, I kept repeating "please don't be someone on my friends list" as the paged opened?

I knew there was at least one of these - a classic threwad from 2003:

Post your incredibly BAD teenage poetry Here...

Dude, there's really no need to hitch your skirts up. I was simply trying to imply to you that clicking on the link you'd be directed to the SG Poetry group, where you'd find an appreciative audience for your writings. Posting poetry on the boards encourages certain responses.

I apologise for attempting to help.

No - scones are evil British things they use to break out the remains of their crooked, rotting teeth. American biscuits are light and fluffilicious!

Here's a delicious recipe to try in your primitive cast iron cooker. You'll have to figure out the measurements. A cup is half a pint - just remember to pour out the flat beer before you use it to measure. wink

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
5 tablespoons chilled vegetable shortening
1 cup buttermilk
PREPARATION:

Preheat oven to 425F. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut shortening into the flour mixture with a pastry blender until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
Add buttermilk, tossing with a fork, until dough holds together.

Turn dough onto a floured surface and form into a disk. Knead lightly just a few times until smooth.

Pat dough to a 3/4-inch thickness. Using a biscuit cutter or pint glass dipped in flour, cut out biscuits. Place biscuits about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Gather the trimmings and repeat forming and cutting.

Bake about 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.
Makes 12.
