beeradvocate.com would be a good place to look. It is a great beer site if nothing else, but I do believe that they have a homebrew forum and faq. They may ask you to join to access all of the site, but it is free, and if you are all about beer, it is a super group of likeminded people.

I did it for awhile, but I don't have the space right now. Beeradvocate is a good place to start, but it's better to go into a homebrew supply store (Most decent sized cities have at least one) and talk to the people behind the counter.

Brewing the beer isn't tough, but it is time consuming, and getting the carbonation right is difficult. Be prepared to drink some flat beer.
