Sylvester Stallone won't let the Rocky series fucking die with dignity.

The film, titled "Rocky Balboa," will be co-produced and co-financed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios and will be distributed by Columbia Pictures.

Stallone has been trying to make a sixth movie for years and has been reworking a script. The latest version, which sources said is similar to the tone and grit of the first two movies, persuaded the studios to negotiate a deal.

And -- get this -- the plot is going to be just like all the other five thousand and a half Rocky films! Can you believe that?

In the new installment, Rocky, lonely and retired in Philadelphia, comes out of retirement, intending to fight a few low-profile local fights. He's approached to fight a match with reigning heavyweight champ Mason "The Line" Dixon, and soon his comeback ignites a media firestorm.

Maybe he'll also kick some ass and make really lame puns! And there'll be a sequence with dancing bookies, of course.

What I've always enjoyed about the Rocky series is that he's supposed to be a heavyweight. Stallone's what? 5'7"?

if anyone wanted the series to die with dignity...you'd better find a time machine and go back to right before they made number four.

but at least they got the titles right didn't they? i always found stallone's OTHER series was more funny, at least in titles.

first blood
rambo: first blood part two
rambo three

how the f#@! do you get "rambo three" out of "first blood" and then "rambo: first blood part two?" and no revisonist history either. the original was titled "first blood," not "rambo: first blood."

that's when i was just a young pup, but that's also when i figured out..."hey! these f#$!ers just want my money!"

I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD so I can see the Bonus Footage of Stallone breaking his hip half way through filming the boxing portions (you know, before they called in Andy Serkis to motion capture the rest for the CG Stallion).

it's a good title for a final film...

i wonder if he'll die in the end of it...there was a rumour that he was going to die in the original script of the last film...but they changed it b/c it was too dark...it would be cool if they decided to do it this time.

i read the first few pages of the script...
[spoilers]
the movie opens with Rocky and Pauly in the graveyard visiting Rocky's wife's grave...i wonder why they decided to kill her off...i always kind of liked adrian...

Unless Mr. T is in it, I'm going to skip this one.

I am looking forward to Rambo 4 where John Rambo invades Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban he helped put in power in Rambo 3.
