Art terrorist Banksy has caused yet another public stir with his new art show in London, "Crude Oils." Wooster Collective has several photographs taken at the gallery where, in addition to his own art, Banksy has installed 164 live rats as part of the show. As Banksy is perhaps best known for self-installing his art in major museums, one visitor to the show put his art up on the wall next to Banksy's.

Billed as "an exhibition of remixed masterpieces, vandalised oil paintings and vermin", the show met with a varied response. "Art is for rich people" said a member of the public who was asked if he wanted to venture into the rat/art-infested enclosure. "No, it isn't - this is Banky's art - it's all over London and it's for everyone" retorted someone from the queue. There was no VIP entry, everyone waited in a democratic line before signing a form with 11 terms and conditions and entering the space where they were greeted with a warning to stay calm and tread carefully around the gallery as the "welfare of rats is paramount".

Alongside the dozens of rats which were scurrying around broken urns and snuggling into a uniform-clad skeleton, there are a series of classic paintings all of which have been Banksified. A thug in Union Jack shorts vandalises Edward Hoppers' Nighthawks, while two fellas roll a barrel of nuclear waste along the shore in Jack Vettriano's The Singing Butler and Van Gogh's Sunflowers have died. The rats are as much a part of the exhibition as the bastardised art and they'll be mingling with the masterpieces at the gallery until October 24.

I'm not sure how I feel about him having another gallery exhibition. At first glance, it flies in the face of much of what he himself says in his own books and actions...

Banksy is one amazing stencil artist, but I agree with not knowing how to feel about a gallery exhibition.

If that's boring, I guess there's just no pleasing you. It sure got a chuckle out of me anyway.

Look at it this way. It's a valuable contribution to the local rat economy and the gallery setting ensures the animal's safety.

I fucking hate Jack Vettriano. The store where I work is just cluttered with his mundane suburban-living-room-ready art prints. I would LOVE to see that shit Banksified.
