I really didn't read any of this thread but I'd like to say my own screw Breast Cancer Awareness month.

And I'm a woman who is at a higher risk at developing breast cancer having already been diagnosed to having Fibrocystic Breast Disease and still feel FINE saying that.

What about all the other type of cancer, why is breast cancer so more important? Because everyone loves boobies?

Cancer runs in my family, more people in my family have died of cancer than anything else. Most recently being my favorite aunt Isabelle (who was a beauty). She was a non-smoker who developed lung cancer. When she went to Slone-Kettering for her chemo treatments she told me how on the breast cancer floor there was cloth wall paper and wall to wall carpeting meanwhile on all the other floors it was white wall and linoleum floors. I'm not sure on any statistics but I'm certain that breast cancer research gets more funding than any other kind of cancer. She told me not to donate to breast cancer research because they don't need to have any more decorations on their floor. She wasn't aware the people could develop lung cancer if they didn't have something that had put them at risk.

I say make it CANCER AWARENESS MONTH . . . forget the BREAST . . . just focus on the CANCER.

fair enough statement, but before you jump on the "fuck breast cancer" bandwagon, you MAY want to indeed read the utter bullshit you are aligning yourself with by agreeing (even if in a different text)
You (and your family) would probably be completely offended by the lies and mis-information being handed out by this moron

I'm sorry about your aunt, but breast cancer is the leading cancer among white and African American women. Donating to breast cancer research will lead to a cure for breast cancer which will lead to a cure to cancer.

Ya, I said I didn't really read any of it.

Usually, I'll first skim a thread to see if I then want to spend more time reading everything throughly. I saw someone ask the author of this thread if he was a scientologist and then skimmed through
legionnaire's post where I got the gist that he schooled blastbeat666. That's when I decided NOT to read this thread, cause MisterSatan you're right I knew I would have wished I hadn't. I saved myself some time.

Why can't it be donate money to CANCER research which will lead to a cure for BREAST cancer?

I didn't plan to spend much time in this thread due to the obvious emotional reasons I alluded to earlier. But just to add more of the reasons why my aunt was 'jealous' of the breast cancer floor was that there was a lounge on that floor and one in the lobby. If her son or husband (who held vigil by her side the entire time) needed to leave her room to hide the fact that they had broken down (yet once more) they needed to either seek solace in the restroom to compose themselves or take the elevator to another floor, wasting precious seconds they would want to spend at her side.

I'm not saying take money away from breast cancer RESEARCH. I'm saying spread it around; stop singeling out the breasts like their more important and deserving of prettier hospital wards when there's the brains, lungs, livers, mouths, throats, etc that are also effected by the abnormally growing cells.

She finally died because her brain died, and she was an intellectual, she prided herself on her mind and she was strong, assertive, independent woman (that's why I admired her so much). She was a teacher and went on to be an officer for the Board of Education, knowledge was her life and in the end it was her brain that finally failed her. I saw her confused, repeating herself, not remembering people or her favorite poems or literary quotes she would often recite.

Breast cancer has a MONTH, a WALK, pink Ribbons, yoplait yogurt lids, pink bracelets, wall paper at Sloane-Kettering (one of the biggest Cancer hospitals) when all the other floors don't etc. I got her Livestrong bracelets before they were trendy, she was proud of them then target came out with the breast cancer ones.

All I said was make it CANCER AWARENESS MONTH . . . forget the BREAST . . . just focus on the CANCER. Said this was my OWN screw Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I never said I agreed with the author if this thread . . . please make sure THAT is clear to everyone especially the author of this thread.

Thanx.
