what's your advice for a guy who has groomed hands, but got his middle finger smashed in a shopping cart and now he has a nice collection of blood underneath his fingernail? I'm not saying it can't be removed...but it would involve sticking something between my nail and finger to scrape it out. I'm pretty sure that would hurt.
and painted nails aren't my bag, I'm too geeky to get away with that look.
The blood will go away on its own.. you can't scrape it out, you'd only fuck things up more. So wait.. and maybe get some gloves in the meantime.

I think amputation is in order. Gloves would work to, weather permitting.
