Seriously, it's always been a disaster. Time for a change. Start it right after the World Series, and have the playoffs end right before March Madness. Why would hockey want to compete with sports that are, um, successful?

I'd put money on any hockey team in a fight with any baseball team.

The Blue Jackets are easily my favorite random expansion team. Their unis rule, and their mascot is basically a minor league baseball team mascot, which kicks like seven kinds of ass.

I mean, how can you not love this logo?

and is it just me or does anyone else get irritated and bored with the shoot-outs? i couldn't stand it while watching soccer and i like it even less with hockey. i hope they change it back. i mean... i can see why they would want to try it but really; IN MY OPINION: of all sports hockey is the not the sport for this kind of game ending. that's not what hockey has been about FOR ME. it's an explosive sport that's stalled and slowed down when they come out for the shoot out.

i'm not sure if i can get used to this aspect of it. but hey i can't really complain... it's HOCKEY SEASON AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as long as there are games to watch i'm gonna watch 'em. i was just wondering if anyone else was disappointed by that part of it like i was.

(and no my team didn't lose its first regular season match because of a shoot out. i just didn't like it when i was watching through-out the pre-season. )

Yeah I agree. Granted, shootouts are exciting, but they aren't what hockey is all about. The fact that there won't be any shootouts in the playoffs is evidence that the league itself doesn't consider them to be fair tiebreakers.

yah, hockey is a team game and should be won as a team, but i hate ties even more. but hey, im an ottawa fan so im loving shootouts right now.
