Incredibly frustrating, yes.
I fucked up on this last one and they thought I was married. Really threw a damned wrench into me getting my money in a timely manner.

Is it true that if you are over 24, regardless of if you live with the 'rents or not, they will only go off of your income? that's what everyone has been telling me.

I think, 25 and older you don't have to claim your parents income, but I believe you are still able to put that information into the system (if you like).

The FAFSA online form is relatively easy and painless for me. I usually have my tax returns in hand.

I was 23 when I filled out my FAFSA and I didn't have to provide my parents' info.

stupid fafsa... they calculated my efc at $8,200 - thats about 1/3 of my annual income... how do they expect someone living in ny to be able to contribute that much to tuition? mad

Never had a problem with them. Pretty simple to correct if a mistake is made. Now if only my schools financial aid department could get their shit together. They have consistently fucked up something every single semester.
