As for Raimi hating Venom.....yea, but almost all the fans bitch for Venom. Frankly, I don't think it matters if he likes the villain or not, he's already shown us he's an incompetant jackass who can't give the villains any depth or write a solid story. The plot/logic holes in those movies are big enough to throw an alternate universe through it.

Raimi didn't write Spiderman, David Koepp did. Spiderman2 was written by three guys, Alfred Gough, Miles Millar and Michael Chabon.

can't blame him either, venom has no depth to begin with, it's a angry shapeshifting black blob woohoo.
i share raimi's loathing for venom, he'd make a terrible movie villain since all he really does is wreck stuff, if venom wasn't so very powerfull he'd barely be suited for a little side villain because that's about all the depth he has.

So, uh, how exactly did Ock buy/drag all that equipment down there without anyone noticing or stopping to ask....

Oh, I don't know, maybe the same way Professor X bought an SR-71 Blackbird, or built a giant-ass military complex under a school in upstate New York.

Both the Spiderman and X-Men films are full of patently ludicrous ideas, because that's the nature of comics. If you like the X-Men movies better, fine, but don't give them a free pass for things they're just as guilty of.

Funny. There was something in the second Spiderman movie about an astronaut coming back from a historic space mission. Whatever could have been getting set up there?

If you're serious... It should be the Moonstone

1) why did they just do to why not the sinister six?

2) maybe "batman forever" cop out turning venom into a mindless lackie like they did to bane.

bane steroid freak drug lord to ivy's gay imbecilic body gaurd.

i think it would be really hard to have both villains put in the same film 90 mins and make it cohesive.

3) when will the "east coast avengers" movie be released?

i don't like the films as of yet so I am not very euthastic of any future releases, didn't like the x-men movies either, didn't bother even watching fantastic four and hulk.

dear marvel stop whoring yourself please.

what about "kabuki, sandman" maybe!?!?
there are other comic books besides the ones about flashy super heros/heroine.

The storyline has been "fixed" since the 90s for the cartoon and various comic spinoffs.

Now the symbiote was brought back by an astronaut......

Funny. There was something in the second Spiderman movie about an astronaut coming back from a historic space mission. Whatever could have been getting set up there?

so how many billion dollar movies have you made...or know how much input the money guys have on story.....not to mention control on everything.......

I love that the most profitable directors are the ones that made Evil Dead and Meet the Feebles......We just need Ruggero Deodato or Takashi Miike to direct the next big budget "good movie" smile

and they were all supposed to come out back in the 90s (when people actually gave a shit.)

A mind controlling billionare has a slightly better chance, I feel, of getting away with such things....

A missing man with 8 limbs robs a bank, and just strolls down to the "World Changing Inventions Supply Store" and buys exactly what he needs (that apparently only a megacorporation could afford, but he gets enough from a bank?) on the spot, then hauls it across the city and taps huge amounts of electricity....and noone notices?

I don't expect comic films to be the Godfather.....but I do expect them to be less comic bookish.

Hmm I'd like a carnage cameo.

I can see it now:

Eddie Brock sits in his cell at the end of the movie, thinking over what he's done, the symbiote in stasis.

You hear the cell door slide open.

"Whats up, new roomie?"

Brock looks up. The camera pans up to reveal the red hair, freckles and slightly insane smile of Cletus Cassidy.

Fade to Black.
Roll Credits.

The way I see it, Venom=Evil Spiderman so why not make Eddie=Evil Peter Parker. So basically, cast another skinny, goofy white guy and give him a sort of sleazy, amoral quality.

this is an excellent point made. i like the idea of a Parker-enemy. a little inner-office rivalry flaring and matching secret identity all out wars.

anyway,
i don't understand not enjoying the Spiderman movies. they are just nifty, and seem to have been able to not take themselves too seriously.

but to each his and her own.
