Of all of all the directors who have been given Directors Label DVDs, the only one who can truly be considered old school is Anton Corbijn. This DVD contains this photographer turned director videos such as Joy Divisions Atmosphere, Nirvanas Heart-Shaped Box, Depeche Modes Barrel of a Gun and many more.
It doesn't seem like the interviewer had any information on the photographer besides clips from a bio, and also didn't seem especially interested in interviewing the photographer anyway. This is the only interview I have ever read with Anton Corbijn and it may well have not existed in the first place.

Indecipherable accent?! Never heard that the Dutch are great at learning foreign languages? He has been living in London a big part of his life, so I don't think his accent was the problem. Yup, am a proud Dutch girl
I have been a fan of bamds like Depeche Mode and Joy Division since I was 13. I have see almost every video he has ever made. I think Anton Corbijn is an excellent director and I hope that movie about Iam Curtis gets off the shelf and into production.
This interview seemed to be a little on the surface and could have been more indepth (with the right research of course).
Did you know Anton also did a video the late Johnny Cash?
I love that video for Heart Shaped Box. It's especially cool when you read Cobain's journals and sketches the video's imagery was derived from. It's a perfect expression

Well, Anton didn't write the questions. He's not the one who gave himself a "shit" interview.
then you dont understand the process. he didnt give good answers, end of story
Could have been a lot worse.
Given the fact you've done how many interviews on SG, you would have at least a little experience in determining if it was or wasn't a shite interview.
It (and the other three w/ Romanek, Glazer and Sednaoui) made me buy the box set of the DVD's, if that helps.
then you dont understand the process. he didnt give good answers, end of story
Yeah, end of story. It ended before the interview began. A better question to start with perhaps, given what is there, might have even been, "So, who are you exactly?"
He has one of the most brilliant eyes and posseses a creativity that has impressed me for nearly 2 decades (Cure, U2, Depeche Mode, his photography and video ideas, etc.). He's an icon to me...
I'm glad i stumbled upon this interview. i have this dvd and the film control and i love to watch both. I think Anton Corbijn is incredible. He really is a true inspiration to me.
