Why is smoking cool?

I know I'm not cool because I don't smoke. Whatever I have lots of extra money to spend on SG stuff

No matter what the anti-tobacco commercials/sites/everything says, smoking IS cool. All the cool kids smoke. It's a part of life. Why is it cool though? I was just wondering....

I used to smoke when I was a raver and did a lot of drugs but now I'm "grown up" and "responsible". AKA "boring" and "old".

I don't know what you're smoking, but my smoke is pretty arrhythmic. It's more sinuous.

I dont think its cool, If I could get rid of my obsession with zippo lighters, smoking would be next

wouldn't say that it's "cool", but it gives you something to do, and helps me at least refrain from kicking my idiot customers in the head.

I smoke. I'll be the first to tell you smoking is not fucking cool. It was awesome when I was 15 now I can't fucking stop. Although it can be quite appealing and sexy, it's fucking disgusting and I hate it!!!!

Why don't you stop then? Don't you have any backbone? No will? Stop bitching and stop smoking.

I smoke to annoy non-smokers.

Smoking is neither here nor there...lots of people think it's not cool, some people do. I guess it really is in the mind of the beholder.

At this point in my life, smoking is just something I do...it's a habit. But if others find it cool, then I've got a +1 advantage to my Charisma stat. DOH!!

Because I smoke.

Cancer, chemotherapy, radiation treatments. Burns from radiation. Sickness from the chemo. Vomiting. Liquid poop. Not eating. Hair loss.

Cool stuff.

I've already had cancer (not lung or mouth) and I don't want it again. Which is exactly why I want to quit. Yes it can be enjoyable to smoke and it really helps me when I think about shit, but I don't want to do it anymore. Unfortunately its not as easy as just quitting!

When I see a smoker:
I see someone with a limited education/intelegance and who is very self centered
I go the other way - I can't stand being around the ick of smokers
I get pissed at having to breath in second hand smoke - esp when I'm at the beach or park. I mean gross! I'm out in nature for fresh air and I have to put up with some ignortant asshole smoking.

If it was up to me, smoking would be banned in ALL public places.

Because smoking used to be badass (and still kinda is) and badass things are cool.

Its not, but for the people who think it is its because your told not to because its bad for you, and we all know its cool to rebel against all things for no reason... personally i rebel against rebellion

Hmm...doesn't point 1 reflect your views on points 2 and 3? Like, your desire to enjoy a smoke-free environment is as self-centered as my desire to have an unhealthy polluted environment (by your standards).

If anything, I feel like there should be designated smoking areas. And they should have beautiful topless waitresses who love hanging out and talking about cool bands. And there should also be live music all the time in these places, replete with people who wear leather jackets. Also, in these designated smoking areas? There should be whiskey that falls from the ceiling and people who love dancing.

That's just my two cents. You non-smokers can do whatever you please, like traipse around in nature...poo-tee-weet!

Because society tells me not to smoke, man, and I like to do the exact opposite of whatever society tells me. Which is why I never ever wash my hands after I poo.
