I demand that anyone in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, go protest the Planned Parenthood on Locust Street! I know, I know, these are shocking words coming from me, but hey, it's for a good cause!

The Planned Parenthood on Locust Street in Philadelphia is sick and tired of their staff and patients being harassed by protesters, so they thought up a pretty slick way to get the protesters to leave:

Here's how it works: You decide on the amount you would like to pledge for each
protester (minimum 10 cents).

When protesters show up on our sidewalks, Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania will count and record their number each day from October 1 through November 30, 2005. We will place a signoutside the health center that tracks pledges and makes protesters fully aware that their actions are benefiting PPSP. At the end of the two-month campaign, we will send you an update on protest activities and a pledge reminder.

Example:
If you pledge 30 cents per protester, and PPSP has 100 protesters in October and 160 protesters in November, your donation would be 78 dollars for the entire two-month campaign.

Similar to sponsoring a runner in a charity marathon, your pledge total can be capped at a pre-set amount, if desired.

If you think this is a good idea, please don't actually go protest the clinic to drive up the numbers of assholes standing outside so more money goes to the clinic. Fill out a pledge form instead.

Why not protest in front of their houses or businesses. For some of them that would cause them problems with their neighbors or customers.

awesome idea!
the stupid people here protest abortions in front of our planned parenthood, but the PP here doesnt even DO abortions- the hospital does. They never get up the balls to protest in front of the med center, and I laugh at them as I pull up to get my gyno exam or pick up pills.

no one is saying they don't have the right to be there. planned parenthood has just as much of a right to come up with clever and tricky ways to get rid of them.

and i don't really see how any part of your post is sounding "gay" whatever

Ummm....they have been doing this for a while. I did a news story on a PP protest last year and the woman gave me a flyer for the "Pledge-a-Picket" program. It definately is a cool program tho.
