A few people have said that they shed more tears over a pet dying than over a family member, even one they were close to. Something to explore: why does that happen to so many of us? I, too, cried more over my poor kitty Hermione MUCH more than I did in the few times people in my life died. So are we all heartless nutjobs, or is there something specific that makes a pet's death so much more heartrending than a person's?
I'd offer that the purity of love an animal shows you (no conditions, well, except a full bowl of kibble and a belly scratch now and then) and the certainty that your pet will NEVER lie to you/break your trust makes your pet a hard friend to lose.
Here's my kitty with her human sisters (my twin daughters).
so sorry to hear of the loss
i too have been devastated by the passing of my pets, sometimes it seemed more than humans ive lost, but theres something about the innocence of animals, and its sad that you dont know exactly what they are thinking, whether they would like treatment if they are ill or just to pass away in peace.you never know if your making the right decision.
Anyway i hope you feel better soon, and hugs to anyone else whos lost a pet
