Does anyone know any links to a site where you can download free audio editing software?
I need to take a really long track on a CD and cut it up into lots of little tracks to burn onto another CD.

Try mp3 splitter. I'm pretty sure it's a free trial at least.

grab a demo of soundforge if you need something a bit more robust.

I'm sure it's overkill for what you're after, but Audacity is Free and multi-platform. I think it will do what you need.

I did and it worked perfectly. Now if only I could figure out how to work the damn equalizer.... blackeyed
