While it would be great if we could get some ideas from everyone's profile, I don't think that's possible. SO, instead, I thought we could share some of our favorite titles HERE. If you could give a brief over view of the story, that would be kick ass too.

the Delicatessen, directed by Juenet and Caro.

and "Chopper" see my journal entry for more on that one.

Ginger Snaps

Hot teenage girl gets bitten by werewolf and experiences a simultaneous sexual and primal awakening while her younger, pre-menstrual sister tries her best to maintain their relationship and save her sister from herself. Parallels are drawn between lycanthropy and puberty. The sequel is even better.

Baraka

One of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen! A group of film makers got to about 30 different counrties traveling around the world three times filming completely different civilizations and the unbelievable scenery around them. There is no dialogue, just an amazing soundtrack featuring "Dead Can Dance" and other very chanty musicians.

"Santa Sangre" a very underrated film by Alejandro Jodorowsky ("El Topo") , I won't bother with a snynopsis as it's not an easy film to describe, and definately not for everybody. But if you have a bold taste in film, check it out

"Cinema Paradiso"! made me cry. Has the absolute, most beautiful ending ever!

You can make it easy. Little boy sees his father cut off his mother's arms. Little boy becomes his mother's arms.

While i think "El Topo" and "Holy Mountain" are great films, i have to say that "Santa Sangre" did it for me and it may have had to do with the colors within the film, as corny as it may sound, it was like a fucking painting come to life. But keep in mind that i have not seen the other two in many years and may have to see them again to fully appreciate them once again, cut me some slack as I am an old woman ( compared to many on this site anyway) smile

Hehe

It's fine, the colors in "Ran" are what made me love the film so much. Same thing goes for "TheCook, The Thief, His Wife, & Her Lover".

Loved "The cook, the thief, his wife and her lover", but it's true that sometimes the colors are what suck you in, that and sometimes the cannabilism smile

I love John Waters/ John Waters style movies... not the "Divine" stuff, but the stuff he did after, the really satirically mocking ones, like cry baby, and serial mom, and But I'm a cheerleader. Funny as hell. They are as overly cheesy as possible. No steretype is spared.

John Waters didnt direct "But Im a cheerleader" but its a great movie nonetheless, very funny, sadly enough the star of that film "Natasha Lyonne" is in the hospital suffering from complications of hepatitis C, hopefully she'll make a recovery. I love her as an actress.
