I generally prefer the quirky, weird, funny episodes over the ones that were supposed to be scary or the ones centering on the conspiracy (I've only seen the episodes out of order so I couldn't appreciate the two-parters).

My favorite episode was "From Outer Space" (Alex Trebek!). That or the one where Luke Wilson is a vampire.

I loathed and despised that episode with every ounce of my being. The only redeeming thing about it is Mulder's shriek.

Anton, if the Millenium series was an X-Files episode, which kind would it be? Conspiracy episode or monster episode?

The first (and best) season of Millenium only has hints of a conspiracy. It's more X-Files-monster-episode-meets-Seven. Lots of gory murders and rain and dark nights and overcast days and people being stabbed and mutilated and Lance Henriksen being the coolest, broodiest motherfucker in the history of television.

Sweet! Thanks, I'm totally going to add Millenium to my list of must-own TV shows! kiss

Best 'X-Files' episode (in my opinion) is "Home" with the deformed inbred men and their legless mother that they keep under the bed.

Best use of Johnny Mathis ever.

Holy shit yes. love That episode was disgusting!

I am one of those people who is so obsessed with the show that if you describe an episode to you, I can tell you the name of it, probably the season, and I can likely also tell you the producer and some random trivia about it as well. And I enjoy doing that too. It's a fun little game for me. Sometimes I have to practically beg people to describe episodes to me.

I even did a little mini set as Scully.

See?

My thing with redheads goes all the way back to Molly Ringwald in Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone.

Actually, I think my thing with redheads, as well as my first inklings of fascination with bondage, can both be tied to this image:

But yeah, Gillian Anderson...omg.

Because I just saw the trailer for the movie (which was nearly worth the price of admission to The Happening), I'm going to give this thread a major bump.

Three cheers for X-files!
P.S. Scully with long hair = love love love

It wasn't a girly scream.

If we're gonna talk about funny/silly X-Files episodes, it's clearly a competition between "Small Potatoes" and "Bad Blood". For me, "Bad Blood" wins because of Mulder, drugged and singing the theme to shaft.

Though there are other episodes with wonderfully silly lines. For example:

From "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" (one of my top five favorites):

Mulder: "Be honest, Scully. Doesn't that propane tank bears more than just a slight resemblance to a fat little white Nazi stormtrooper?"
Scully: "Mulder, the human mind naturally sees meaningful patterns and configurations in things that don't inherently have any. Given the suggestion of a particular image, you can't help but see that shape somewhere. If that tank weren't there, you'd see it in a rock, or in a tree %u2014"
Mulder: "Did you answer my question?"
Scully: "Yes. It looks like a fat little white Nazi stormtrooper, but that only proves my point."

From "War of the Coprophages":

Scully: "No, this is no place for an entomologist."

I mean uh, yes. Hot lady, and a good show.
