I went to this movie knowing full well it was going to be bad. I thought it might be so bad it would be funny, you know? Wrong. It was just bad. I'm talkin' Battlefield Earth bad people.

I would agree with this assessment. The short story and the eighties era teleplay was much better, though the latter was quite low budget from current sensibilities.

That depends. If you like those cheesy movies on SciFi you'll love it. But I think you should wait for rental. Check out Red Eye or even better, Devil's Rejects if you have'nt already done so.

A scifi movie based on a Bradbury story with the premise that was later described in Jurassic Park. Remeber when Goldblum was talking about that whole butterfly changing the weather? Well this butterfly changes the future. Complete with monkey dinosaurs and batmonsters. It really is bad.

A method of time travel is discovered by a corporation ran by a man obsessed with making money and little else. He sets up a company called "Time Safari" that allows people to go back to the Jurassic/Cretacious and kill an allosaurus with a guass gun that fires slugs made of ice.

The danger, beyond getting eaten by the dinosaur, is that the farther back ones goes in time, the more danger there is in accidentally changing something...

In simple terms, killing a butterfly sixty-five million years ago affects evolution -- and subsequently destroys humanity as we know it.

Good story, not great execution of said story, however.

I will try to stop myself, but I can't get enough of bad movies. Maybe I'll mix it up with "Days of Thunder".

Days of the Sound of Thunder in which a time travelling race driver played by Tom Cruise accidentally runs over a butterfly thus creating - through the magic of chaos theory - a race of women who all look like Nicole Kidman known as 'Beard Primes'.

It'll be a big hit.

I work in a movie theater.

Someone asked me this same question.

Here is my response.

Me:
Uh, people invent time travel, and decide to use it to hunt dinosaurs. they fuck shit up, evolution goes astray and hilarity ensues. And crappyness. Save your 10$.

They didn't.

They were warned.

Rant about current movies, kind of offtopic:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

And honestly? Nothing newish is really worth seeing.
Transporter2 is a disapointment compared to the first.
Red eye, good execution and god knows i love cillian murphy, but whos afraid of a preppy mute with an ascot.
Sound of thunder, like i said, sucks, there was a reason it was filmed 2 years ago and just now released.
Underclassman pretty much fails at life.
Brothers grim was not worth paying to see.

Spend your money on renting some films you know you like, and if you must go out, well, 40 year old virgin had its funny moments, Id pay to see it, even if it is a few weeks old.
