Mighty Boosh - Surreal laugh a second Genius
Peepshow - Just... the best thing on TV, ever
League of Gentlemen - Classic
Nathan Barley - Finally something taking the piss out of these cunts!
Garth Marengies Darkplace - Again, genius
Absolute Power - Very clever, so funny
Black Books - Classic
Spaced - Defined my early teens
Brasseye - Chris Morris is simply a God
The Office - Why remake it without Brent???

Im sure I've missed loads out... especially the classics (day today, big train, father ted...), but I still think we're the funniest nation.

I tried Curb Your Enthusiasm recently because everyones been raving about it to me but... well, it was ok but no way lived up to the hype, appualingly acted but I won't give up on it yet.

Appart from Seinfeld and Frasier I cant think of any other 'credible' US comedies? Excluding cartoons.

Edit: Forgot teachers, class

Bottom. Childish as hell, but still manages to raise a smile. The Christmas episode is an absolute classic.

(I did a Google image search for Bottom...this was the best I could come up with. Im sure you won't mind)

I love a lot of UK comedy, but in defense of US comedy:

Daily Show
Arrested Development
Chapelles Show
Mr. Show

uhhh... for non-animated stuff thats all I got. I think I just proved your point... damn it.
