Great movie.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I really liked that once Wash is dead, you feel that anyone of them could die in the final battle. But WTF was up with Inarra's bow?!

yeah...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I looked at the serenity website, and it looks like it's actually a companion's weapon of choice. What a surprise, eh? Wish it had shown up in the series before. Just kinda wish she had something a bit more rapid fire...like...a crossbow that fired off a bunch of rounds per second. I woulda felt like she was a little more safe then!

Well i never really saw the series until it showed up one day on the
Scif channel. After the first few episodes and some appraisal from friends i went and got the box set from amazon and now it is one finest Scifi series i've seen (other than Farscape) that lived a rather bright but short lived life. So off ot watc hthe movie today already, ought ot wait for my girl friend but i can wait any longer. hehe..

Yeah, that's what that AICN review was saying. I really enjoyed that.

I have only seen a couple of episodes of Firefly but this movie owned me. It had everything that the Star Wars prequels didn't. From a ruthless, interesting villian to snappy fun dialogue and intense battle scenes this was what the prequels should have been. Goddamn I got to buy the series now.... love

I loved the movie, seen it twice already and I'm probably going again. I also have a bunch of free stuff I got for helping promote the movie which was awesome.

In this interview Alan Tudyk says there's a shot of him with a 'tache in the movie - a la Out Of Gas - but it's very brief. Anyone seen this?

Btw, there's a bundle of good interviews with the cast on the Empire site.

It was a really solid flick. There were things that I, as a lukewarm fan going into it, didn't quite love so much. The completely random Mal-has-a-love-interest stuff did nothing for me, fer'instance.

How is that random? It's been a factor on almost every episode of the show. Have you seen the Heart of Gold episode? They don't just spell it out for you, they hit you with it like a sack of doorknobs. It also explains why she wasn't on Serenity at the start of the movie.

So, after the third time, it occours to me that Mal is fuckin' hard core.

Praise goes to our british SuicideBoys and Girls who managed to get Serenity it's only Number One position in the charts. Not only that, but Britain was the only country where the box ofice numbers increased from friday to saturday (indicating that it really hit the mainstream, rather than having lots of Browncoats watching it on friday and not many people on saturday), and it got the highest gross per screen, too (theatres were packed).

A sequel is looking very unlikely now. The only way it could happen is if the DVD sales are high (and with sci-fi, they always are) and they might make a Straight To DVD release, although the stigma attached to that isn't getting any better. Especially with the fucking American Pie DTDVD spinoff and the Carlitos Way (?) thing.

Still, the movie has been a hit for Joss Whedon's career. The public loved it, the critics loved it, and the studio acknowledged the movie was a very hard sell. So it's not all bad.

Loved the show and oved the film.
I went to the screening in Liverpool and was a little disapointed for it to be only half full frown

Loved it tho, wanna go see it again, and probably once more for good measure.

There is still hope. There are some movies that where flops in theaters but made a killing on DVD which lead to a sequel (Pitch Black and its Riddock sequel come to mind.

FINALLY got to see it today. DOnt click if you havent seen it.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Wash's death, while sad, was both totally jarring and totally fitting at the same time. Jarring because he was just flat out killed in a brutal fashion with no sappy death monologue or snappy last jabs at anyone. Fitting because it occured while he was in the pilots seat after some pretty spectacular flying (Reavers can kick some serious booty) All in all I'm glad I played hooky and watched it. I might go see it again this Thursday. Any Bostons peeps wanna go?

Hey Scotchguy! Welcome to the boards.

My fave episodes of Firefly are Out of Gas and Objects In Space, I still watch those two all the time.

Jubal Early and The Operative - imagine if those two worked together. They'd make one hell of a team. I like to think that if Season 2 ever happens, Jubal and The Operative will (somehow) team up and be like Angelus, Dru and Spike in Buffy Season 2.
