But jesus. Tattooing on the sternum area fucking killed me. I'm getting my chest piece done with Roman Dirge art from Lenore and his pirate art and I'm normally not bothered by the pain.
But damn. Do the ribs feel just as bad? What's your worst spot you got tattooed?
my shoulderblades killed me. seriously. i thought i was going to pass out.
i guess pain is different for everyone though. i'm getting my sternum done as well as my collar bones and i'm using emla cream and i don't care if anyone tells me i'm a poser for doing it.
My stomach was the absolute worst pain. I'm not sure if it hurt so bad because of the location, or because of the way my body reacted: I couldn't breathe while the needle was on my skin. By the end of the outline, I was too lightheaded to worry about the pain anymore.
my pubic tattoo hurt mostly over the ovaries. so apparently tattoos over the ovaries hurt. the one on my back only hurt when it got right up on the spine where theres like no skin. but grrrrr, i love the pain!

i agree.. my tummy was the worst!! i dont care if my tattoo there ever gets finished! i mean one day ill tuff it up and let my boyfriend finish it.. but that might be a while...
I got the cover to the wedgies GN minus Lenore and I'm getting the pirate guns coming down from my shoulders to meet the sparrows wings. I'll get pink spider-webs to fill in some of the other space.

I'm curious too. What's the Emla cream?
its a topical prescription numbing cream. you need to put it on about an hour before the session and cover it. it lasts about an hour i think. there are risks when using it though, cuz it restricts nerve endings or something like that and it could permanently damage tissue...but i guess there are risks with anything. i've used it on my lower back.
yes, i am a fucking pussy.

... and on that note I'll just deal with the pain.
I have to take Benadryl because my skin is so sensitive that it bubbles up the moment the needle touches my skin. It fucking sucks. But I think that's the onyl medication I'lll be using for my ink.
the ones on my chest hurt like blue hell...it felt less like a needle, and more like someone taking a shard of glass and slowly dragging it across my chest.

Im getting a flat red celtic design on the inside of my right arm, any suggestions for a good pain killer to take prior to the tat being done? A friend of mine has panadine 4 and apparently you are in la la land after two of them (provided you havent used them before) but apparently it makes your blood thin out and thus bleed a lot more while getting your tat done.

any suggestions on what i can do?
Suck it up!
Seriously, don't take meds. It'll only piss off your artist because he's spending more time wiping up blood then getting anything accomplished. Just buck up and get the tattoo!

*I know I sound like an asshole meathead, sorry*
No No, your point is valid, I just dont know what the sensation of having a tattoo will feel like, not like waxing (my ex got "kinky" and convinced me to let me get my chest waxed, NOT FUN!)and peircings have never been a problem, so i guess im just a little worried.
