frown it's summer. It's Texas. I'm sweet as sugar. It's that time again. *sigh*

So I was outside for a few hours the other night and got around 20-25 mosquito bites on my legs. They are driving me INSANE. It's awful awful awful. Does anyone have any weird home remedies that actually work?? I always have this problem, they never bite my boyfriend or my mom, just me frown I think I am just doomed to scratch til I bleed and have even more scars. *boo hoo*

Dip an aspirin in water and then rub it on the bites. It'll help the itching a bit. And whatever you do, stop scratching. It will only make the itch worse and if you scratch like I do you'll end up with scars. And a little chunk missing from the top of your head...

EEEKKKkkkk! Have you not heard of West Nile Virus???!!!
Wear long pants/sleeves or at least insect repellant.
For the itching just take a Benadryl.

I don't have any remedies for getting rid of mosquito bites, but as far as preventing I've heard that if you take garlic pills they won't bite you. I heard this from someone who was in the military and said this is what they would do. Besides, garlic pills are good for you.

i spit on them. well, techincally i spit on my hand and rub it on them. i'm oh-so-lady-like.

...but i've only ever done it on one or two at a time, so i'm not sure how much it would help for that many. (not to mention the fact that it'd be a lot of spit wink )

West Nile can bite my ass.
If I hear one more thing about West Nile or monkey pox or SARS or mad cow or some retarded disease I'm never going to catch I think my brain will explode.

the garlic is for future mosquito bites. they'll smell it in your sweat and gag to death. no, really. well, maybe not to death, but they'll bite someone else. and i doesn't work on vampires anymore. i think that was a rumor started by the mosquitos.

I bet he really does have mad cow and he's just in denial. Isn't that one of the symptoms? eeek

Yeah I definitely need to make my blood rancid for those little blood sucking bastards. growing up my mom never needed any sort of repelent cuz they'd just attack sweet lil me. I will go get garlic pills today!! And I love garlic anyways, I'll just eat them like mints tongue (not for realz)

Well I'm almost 22. I've certainly been eating beef since before I was 12. I'm not mad yet. I'm really not concerned.

Funny, how they go for some of us, and not others. I have the same problem . . . they go for me like free beer at a rock concert, while they seem to leave others alone. We must be sweet meat, huh?.

Yeah, damn sweet blood! *shakes fist* Maybe if I started doing heroin. Too bad I'm allergic to opiates. I bet mosquitos love heroin though mad

I really hate it when I am in bed at night and I can hear them buzzing around but cannot see them. Then I get nervous when I don't hear them anymore cuz I'm sure they landed on my sweet flesh. Usually I flail around but it doesn't always work frown

You would think they'd at least get alcohol poisoning! wink

Your post made me think of that commercial where the woman is envisioning a hotel room with a mosquito net over the bed, covered with all sorts of creatures!

I like to sleep naked . . fortunately I've never had one of them bite it yet . . . I suppose it's just a matter of time?

Dip a washcloth in really hot water (as hot as you can take) and then put the washcloth on the bite. Its meant to be stop the itching but I haven't tried it myself.

I just buy the stuff that's made for bug bites from the store. It works fine and you don't smell like your own breath.
