I've always been a fan of the dance stylings of Ginger Rogers & Fred Astaire.

The dancing is this old films is top-notch.. I love this stuff. Does anyone even know what style of dance the kind they do would be called nowadays.

I suppose it's a crime not to throw in a little Gene Kelly too.

can't really help you out with what they would call this style of dance these days, i do know that Rogers and Astaire both were involved in the vaudeville circuit at a young age (teens). Tap dancing was big in vaudeville, so combined with some knowledge of jazz and a little ballroom thrown in, and there was the magic of Fred and Ginger. At some point in his career, Fred Astaire's legs were insured for a million dollars. The closest i see this form of dance today is in the ballroom dance competitions and the "Swing" scene. Sorry....I'm rambling a bit

It's jazz, ballroom, and swing all mixed together for one glorious result.

Why the hell would you add Gene as a side note? He IS dancing! Manly dancing! Fred was way too smooth... too girly.

GOTTA DANCE!

Because I wasn't thinking of him originally and thought it would be CRIMINAL not to mention him.
