If I cut off seven of your fingers and asked you to name the top three comic book creators in the world, one of those digits would be Frank Miller. Miller was previously best known for seminal runs on the comic books Daredevil, Batman, creator owned works like Give Me Liberty [with Dave Gibbons] and Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot [with Geof Darrow]. He's collaborated with many of the most brilliant creators in the comic book field such as Chris Claremont, John Romita Jr., Bill Sienkiewicz, David Mazzucchelli and many more.

Great stuff.

And although I loved Batman Begins, I still long for the Batman: Year One movie that Frank Miller and Darren Aronofsky might have made...

Great interview! And gah, a Hard Boiled movie? That book is so insane I couldn't read all of it at once, it just did something strange to my stomach. Kind of like the feeling you get when you play the original Wolfenstein game for a few hours. I can't wait to see what becomes of it.

Edited because I'm too busy feeling giddy to type properly.

Too-notch interview! Thank you very much! smile

Frank Miller seems like a great guy, and there were some cool insights there. Loved the fact that he can let go and enjoy the range of comic book movies released recently.

I too, believe that was one of the best interviews I've read on here. Miller came across as a great guy. And I had no idea Varley was his wife. I wonder how she feels about inking these super-stacked naked chicks he draws? Great interview.

Great interview. Miller always comes across as so down to earth and yet so very confident at the same time.

And yes, like another poster mentioned, great section at the end with the CBLDF. You should interview Brownstein sometime, if you haven't already. I'm sure that would be fascinating stuff, as your stuff always is.

So jealous of your job. I know you must hear it a million times a day, but DAMN! How cool is it to be you? smile

Not even you? Come on, I bet you say it to yourself now and again. And if you don't, you should.

Or I suppose I can come by and remind you with a comment after each interview you do.

i rarely find women into comic creators like miller

Heh. I used to read Dave Sim's Cerebus, too.

He's a lucky bastard! To be talented/gifted number one. But then to hookup with a guy (Rodriguez) that who allows him to have so much input in the movies. I'm a fan of Miller's Batman work. I hate it took him going mainstream to really catch my attention. Now, after this interview, I can like I've known shit all along.

This interview was more of a conversation than an interview...and that's why it's so great.

Again...awesome.
