Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story! (2005) has been leaked on various P2P networks two months before the release date. This direct-to-DVD was not due to be released until September 27th 2005.

According to the information file published by the release group Angelic Evolution, the movie has been ripped from an “exclusive DVD premiere.”

The release comes despite the studios successful campaign for increasingly draconian copyright protection laws and high profile arrests, leaving the industry and spectators with the questions as to how much can really be done to stop movie leaks.

The DVD includes an unrated audio track, free from censoring and full of swearing:

In this exclusive 83 minute DVD premiere, featuring brand new, never before seen content, Stewie, the maniacal baby genius, is distracted from his plans for world domination when he sees a man who looks just like him on television. Convinced that this man must be his real father (after all, how could he possibly share genetic material with the dimwitted Peter?), Stewie sets off on a cross-country road trip to find him. But his incredible journey leads him to discoveries far more vile and shocking that anything found in his diaper.

The DVD will feature:
Alternate "Unrated" Audio Track
Full Screen Feature
Audio Commentary (participants to be decided)
"Making of" Featurette
Animatic Comparison
Family Guy Season 4 Preview
American Dad DVD Preview

That's right...an unrated audio track. Swears in a Family Guy cartoon! All we have to say is....freakin' sweet!

Check out various screenshots.

Be careful when you download this torrent.

A leak of this magnitude... as well as over 4800+ seeders.... can only be this movie is being tracked. Be careful where you get it from.

All torrents are tracked, aren't they? I believe that's how that form of p2p works.

I downloaded and watched it a few weeks ago. It's not too bad, you should check it out.

two things:

1) it couldn't have happened to a "nicer" bunch of people. "family guy" is strictly lcd humor, mean-spirited, sophomoric and dull. yes, virginia, 50,000,000 elvis fans CAN be wrong. but as art tatum once said, in america, people will dig up shit and worship it no matter how deep you bury it.

2) agreed on the first point. take it from somebody whose day job involves transcribing DVD audio commentaries, most of the value adds on DVDs are utterly useless. hollywood will never be able to sell the chicken to anyone except the most devoted fanboys as long as it's so easy to pirate the eggs. again, it couldn't have happened to a "nicer" bunch of people.

So how's the weather up there?

I got a kick out of the movie. It definetely could've been funnier in places, but ultimately I have no complaints. It's like a really long episode with swearing.

When Seth was asked about how he felt about his shows being leaked on the internet he said something to the degree where it was bad for Fox but good for his fans, and all he really cares about is his fans.

I doubt Fox gave Seth MacFarlane a financial return % based contract with this direct to dvd movie, so I'm sure the actual creators of the show couldn't give two shits.

People are going to see it for free when it airs on Fox as part of the actual season anyway (with some editing out of scenes and adding in of new ones). At least that's what I heard.

That's probably why it feels like watching three continuous episodes rather than an actual movie.

I thought it was pretty funny. Keep in mind it was apparently written as 3 episodes that were kind of stuck together, so you might find some parts more funny than others.

1) I don't really see how people can be "wrong" about humor. If you're laughing...it's funny. Well alright, there are situations in which you might laugh without any humor whatsoever, but those are extremes. It's a pretty good rule of thumb that if you're laughing, you're being amused. Obviously you're not laughing, but that doesn't mean the show is bad, just that it's not for you.

2) Really? I guess there must be a lot of devoted fans. The series itself was massivly pirated, distributed all over and yet the DVD sales were so strong that fox decided to bring the series back on the air. Maybe if you go door to door and explain the show is unfunny people will stop watching, though. Anyway, I'm not trying to say that piracy is responsible for the good DVD sales, just that the show seems to have a large enough fan base to cover it. Time will tell, of course.

If everyone who bought the DVD set had downloaded the episodes instead, it would not have been renewed.

if they're anything like me if they like something enough they always want to buy a proper hard copy just for one, to show their support for it and two.. just because proper copys are better

It had some funny moments. But it wasn't nearly as good as the old episodes were. The new season has been crap compared to the previous released seasons.

More than half of the people I know who own the DVD's would never have even watched family guy had it not been for the pirated episodes. For most people it's not a supplement, it's a complement.

Ok, its tin foil hat time BUT I think this may have been done on purpose as a kind of "viral marketing" experiment. That may not be the proper word. What I am saying is, the Family Guy DVD's were among the best sellers and broke a few records at the time. This got the show back on the air. Now that the movie is leaked, everyone has two months to wonder if the DVD will still sell well. I am just considering that this is an intentional experiment. Why would they do that at risk of a loss? I'm wondering if the person who leaked it is simply not a fan and hoping sales will not be good and eventually, there will be no reason to keep the show. There are alot of people who hate how offensive it is. All of my remarks are speculation at best, so don't take me seriously. Yet, I am curious what others think.

I saw the movie and laughed. I am a fan and I intend to buy the DVD upon release. Most Adult Swim cartoons are available on the Internet right now but still. I buy the products simply because I am a fan of animation and I want them to make more. Am I the exception because I'm a devoted fan? Or will this be the rule? I urge all of you who really like the show, to buy the DVD upon release.
