Hi everyone. I was just curious what were some of your favorite films which are not too main stream. I just saw The Following( director of Memento) and Broken Vessels, both great movies but I had never heard of them. Thanx

That's funny, based on the topic itself, I was actually coming in here to mention that Following is a great flick that not too many people know about. Two of my other favorites are Delicatessen (Jeunet & Caro) and Holy Mountain (Jodorowsky).

I got a film the other day, I dunno if any of you will have heard of it. It's a Russian Film called "Night Watch" it's subtitled in English which makes it that little bit easier for me to understand. It's a good versus evil kinda film, which don't normally appeal to me, but this is awesome; I'd recommend it..

Some other movies, with connections to previously-mentioned movies to connect the thread together a bit more...

After Hours -> Music of Chance... there's a kind of nightmare common to both of how thin a thread connects you to civilised society.
Box of Moonlight -> Lawn Dogs ... Sam Rockwell, characters who are a bit, I suppose, lost.

Titanic. God it was so good. Such nuance, made on a shoestring, but what it lacked in starpower, effects, sets and overblown music, it made up for in a little something I like to call, heart.

Hmm, I do believe I'm being mocked.

I will add as justification for my (evidently) mockworthy statement, that living in the arse end of the UK (We've only just had electricity and indoor toilets put in) tends to narrow the collective mind of the local population.

Following is a great pick - I recommend it whenever I think of it in conversation and inevitably people haven't seen it. It also reminds me that I often recommend Alfred Hitchcock's Rope since most people around my age haven't seen that either, and I think it's pretty darned fantastic.
