Dear god!! I choked on my frosted flakes.

I wish people would stop saying "gay" when what they mean is "lame"
because being gay is not lame...

Yeah no shit huh ?
It's been thrown around a lot lately . So maybe thats good.
I'll have to read the whole thing when I get a chance.

I had some long and not so long talks about this and I'm totally Bi on the issue. I could go either way.

I guess what bothers me most about the "offendee's " is they seem to constantly find the offence in thier interpetation. If they feel gay is derogatory that seems to be the only definition they can accept and that is that.
Your usage is irrellevant. In fact they may even be offended by you simply using it outside of Websters boundries.

I guess for me it really depends on who is saying it and what context it's in. ( is that a " no duh" ? )
If it's some bigoted hic I know runnin his mouth, I can find it exteemly offensive, obviously. Even if he doesn't mean it in any personal way or may not even be referencing a person.

But then if a cute little bi gf says it in exactly the same way, well thats not so offensive wink

I'm sure thats some kinda badness on my count but
whatever

I can't stand when people say "this is queer/gay" or "what a fag".

It makes me angry. People try to pass it off like they aren't homophobic, so it doesn't matter. It does though. You're using homosexuality in a negative context, making it something bad.

I just find it wrong.

As always, it's just 9 pages of "you shouldn't say that, it's offensive," and "lighten up!!" and so on until the end of time.

Either the offenders can decide to respect the offended's sensitivities, or the offended can lighten up, but LITTLE CHANCE of either!

One of the acceptable definitions of "queer" is weird or odd. I use "queer" all the time in that context.

Oh grow up. I have a taiwanese friend and every time I have to do something involving math, I ask her if I can copy off of her. And then she tells me to go get drunk. (Cause I'm of Irish descent, see.)

i've never had a gay person actually be offended by anyone calling something gay. it's just so ridiculous, being offended doesn't even occur to them. i wonder if it's more straight people that think gay people are offended by it.

+1 cocksucker

But if we don't use those words as insults, how will kids learn that homosexuality is wrong?

Oh god! I said "think of the children!". Noooooooooo!

I'd point out that you say "sucked" like its a bad thing. Is that suck as in "suck cock" (contemptible), or "suck hind tit" (inferior)?

Only if they are also crippled.
You can keep using it either way, but why would the behaviour of your gay friends dictate yours?

As far as I'm concerned let's take how it makes certain people feel right out of the equation.

When you say "gay" to mean stupid, worthless, whatever, it makes YOU seem like you have the brain of a 14 year old boy. As soon as I hear someone say it in that way, my opinion of THEM goes down. They're immature, childish, twits.

So go ahead and use it. I'll just get to know you're an idiot without having to bother listening to the rest of what you say.
