Amelie is one of those movies, if you do not turn your face up, can enjoy and come away smiling. Audrey Tautou is totally hot. love

agreed.

I love her lips.

I can't fucking pick out all the things that are right with that picture.

I watch it whenever I'm feeling my absolute worst because it cheers me up.

Ummm, I didn't like it. The story was dull and I think Jeunet & Co. rely on the visual elements of the film to carry the movie. Far too much simpering at the camera.
Delicatessen is brilliant.
I liked Audrey as an erotomaniac in "A La Folie...Pas du tout". She gets to stretch her wings a bit in this.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's the best film made within the last 10 years. It pulls together so many elements of modern filmmaking in an absolutely perfect way - fantastic cast, beautiful story, a stunning but unobstrusive use of special effects to advance the story, killer art direction, blah blah blah. It's one of the only really "perfect" films out there.

I thought City of God was the best. Blew me away, the combination of storytelling and using modern techniques to actual effect, rather than as distractions. Just the opening with the chicken running around is absolutely electrifying.

City of God is right up there, definitely. I would still have to say Amelie is the best, since I can even recommend it to my mom. wink Seriously need to buy City of God one of these days - truly truly killer film.

I love in the beginning when they list the things that she loves.

Cracking creme brule with the back of a tea spoon, sticking her hands into sacks of beans.

But I love absolutely love the ending when she finally gets the guy. Her fantasy that he's there while she bakes. And runs to the store to get yeast and then finally it's real he's in her room and they kiss.

I cry one of those sensitive woman *happy* cries for a chick flick where I let out a deep quivering sigh and a single tear runs down my cheek.

I loved it when she pieced together the photos and when she arranged for her workmate to meet up with one of the patrons of the cafe.
