The Culture Blog! supplies a round up of sexually-themed podcasts, pointing to Violet Blue's "Sexy Podcasts" line up of smutcasting and Clayton Cubitt's aural erotic contribution to the XXX-medium.
There is not enough Podcast smut. There I said it.
Which is to say, there is not yet enough sensually creative use of the new and burgeoning mini-phenom of Podcasting, that quasi-art of recording something -- anything at all -- and turning it into a big MP3 file and then making it available for free download to the wired masses so they can dump it onto their iPod and play it whenever they like.
This is unfortunate. This is lamentable. This is, thankfully, changing fast.

So podcasting is just people recording things and then posting them to the web? And it's a phenomena?
Yeah, it's called "Doing a radio show and making your archives available to the public."
This is like saying syndicating your blog is just making your web page available to people. The whole idea is that you bring the content to the people who are interested (via some program that handles podcast subscriptions, like iPodder or the new iTunes), instead of them checking each website for each radio show they like to see if they've updated yet.
Okay, so it's just a time-saving device, but I'll be damned if I'm going to spend time going to Harry Shearer's site every day just to see if the new Le Show has been posted.
You don't like the smug self-satisfaction? The bizarre minutes-long tangents? The cheesey funk interludes? I'll admit, it takes some getting used to. I mostly just like to hear him tear apart the LA Times.
