The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that youngsters under age 2 not watch any television, that older children watch no more than two hours daily of "quality" programming, and that televisions be kept out of children's bedrooms.

I went to a BBQ recently and a couple brought their baby. We were watching TV, and every time the baby tried to turn toward it, her mother covered her eyes until she turned to look at something else. It made me smile.

As a child, I spent most of my time outside in the woods, contracting cases of poison ivy, or being playing rough sports games with other boys.

TV was always so boring to me....it was an insult to my intelligence even then. I was too hyperactive to sit still...I'd rather have been doing something.

I remember a trip to Europe where I had no computer, watched almost no TV and read nothing but novels. It was kind of bizarre and refreshing how much clarity comes to you and how much leaves when you go back.

Yes. I agree. It's evil. Unlike this lovely, lovely screen into which I stare.

They really needed to do studies to verify this? It seems pretty self-evident.

That show frightens me. surreal

I grew up on TV and still watch a bit too much of it. I graduated high school early and have a photo degree so it didn't completely ruin my mind. biggrin
