The latest issue of Wired includes a man-on-the-street encounter between the article's author Paul Boutin and protoblogger Jorn Barger. At Robot Wisdom, Barger helped spawn the current blogging phenomenon and coined the term "weblog." Today, it seems, he's living on the streets.
A bum in a Google cap. Now there's a sign of the times, I think as he shambles toward me. He looks pretty much like any other tattered street person in San Francisco - long, windblown dirty-blond hair with a beard to match. Unbuttoned shirttails flapping in the afternoon breeze.
But he's walking with someone I recognize - Andrew, a dapper writer I've known for years. We stop on the sidewalk, and Andrew introduces me to the guy in the Google cap: "This is Jorn Barger," he begins. "Another homeless blogger," his companion finishes.

Tip 2: Move to SD, which is really cheap, and watch all the down home net junkies fawn over you.

I hear that it's easier to live on the street in San Francisco than, like, anywhere else, though, despite the semi-obscene cost of living.
A lot of the cost of living is like rent or mortgage which isn't, obviously, a problem if you're homeless.

Yeah, man, but, like, Starbucks and stuff costs more, too. No, seriously, housing costs are not directly a problem anywhere if you're homeless, but all kinds of other stuff costs more money, too.
Don't they have an amazing huge dole in San Francisco, or am I just making things up?
