im actually confused as to why scientists think that man came from just one place.

Many scientists are religious. Their religions tell them that man originated from just one place, and so they end up searching for ways to prove that. Most likely the ancestor of the Neanderthal did come from one place, but the Neanderthals themselves evolved separately into man, hence the differences in skin coloration, eyes, etc.

Analogies to people in different places coming up with the same idea has been proven. People from different parts of the globe that had never met, never known about aliens abductions before would describe the same "alien look" when it came time to describe their own abduction. So it is entirely possible for 2 people to come up with the same episode of X-files if the show did not exist.

I came up with the idea of the Left Behind series about the same time as Tim LaHaye did, he just happened to be older, wiser and knew someone who could write (Jerry Jenkins), though why he didn't write the books himself is a mystery. I didn't know anyone who could write, so I shelved the idea.

If people evolved in different places then we would be more dramatically different... or at least that's what I believe. I think that what we are today came from the same group of early hominids and that eventually our migration determined our other characteristics.

But that we evolved from apes in different parts of the world into what we are now? I just don't think it's possible. For one thing, it would be much easier to determine that because of DNA and bone structure I would think.

Oh well... I'm talking out of my ass right now because I don't have the education or background to prove this notion. It's just a gut feeling.

I was under the impression that the Neanderthals existed at the same time as Homo Sapiens, but were out competed by our ancestors. Scientific findings point to the fact that they died out and didn't evolve further.

stuff about neanderthals
