It seems you are alone...

I'm going to check it out when it hits the UK. I don't really care about comic book faithfulness etc. as long as the movie doesn't suck.

I think it will.

As a huge Shield fan I have to ask: "Why, Michael? Why?"

I could stare at Jessica Alba all day, but she doesn't exactly have the golden touch as far as her movies are concerned.

The Commish is gonna be the Thing though, and I can't complain. The Torch will be the audience favorite, which likely means they're pulling for the jock crowd, and the Reed Richards character might as well be playing the Invisible (Wo)man as far as that trailer is concerned.

On the other hand, it looks like Dr. Doom will be done well, even if he isn't Latvian. Those are my thoughts thus far, and yeah, I'm gonna check it out.

Like I have a fucking choice. whatever

Yeah. I'm a sucker for these Marvel film revivals, even though I haven't actually liked any of them that much up to now. The price of nostalgia eh? wink

I'm all burned out on super hero movies. Have you noticed in the trailer how dark the movie is. Not in tone, but in lack of lighting. All the CGI scenes are at night? What's up with that? The FF should be garrishly four color brihgt!!! Anyway I love Alba, but this movie looks lame!!!! ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

the fact that they are even attempting such a thing makes me happy. I used to love the tv cartoon show.

I saw a screening for this movie on tuesday. It was so bad my friends an I were laughing at the movie most of the time. It has a poor almost non-existant story, bad dialogue, cheap effects and careless mistakes. I'm sure it's better than the Roger Corman version but it sucks.

To right! I love daredevil...x-men2 was okay...batman was excellent...yeah...am forgiving....will turn a blind eye to a dodgy plot as long as there's a decent bit of superhero'ness going on. What turns me on? Can't say....never bonded with superman so much...sexy superhero chicks go a long way, as do cool outfits....and perhaps on some deeper level is strikes a chord with some part of myself that tries to do the right thing....

why would I go and do a thing like that??

all these Marvel flicks suck
(and they were supposed to come out MANY years ago, when I actually cared)

(I still wanna see the other version that is so bad it didn't get released. . ..that things gotta be a riot)

I think "looks" is about as close as Doom will get. After playing the video game in which the actors all did the voices of their characters, my conclusion is that Doom sounds like a whiny bitch. If they can't get the voice of Doom to sound properly super-villainish, then the rest of this precariously constructed Doom will fall apart for me. His voice is just terrible.

Maybe they should have spared Doom until the second film, to give him a better origin treatment.

Alba looks good in anything she does. But again, that's "looks". By all accounts, she'll be great to look at, but not much else. Everything else, so far, is good to go as far as I'm concerned. I want to see it, but I don't have great expectations. It's kinda like Daredevil.

And I have the feeling that the video game is a better movie than the movie will be...

you sound like a guy who knows his stuff....and alba...slurp! Have to agree...would enjoy pretty much anything she was in...at least...the edited bits of all her parts. The rest of it....well.....what turns you on about superhero flicks anyway? Thats a proper question....what does? When you go, well....what do you go for?

I'll start....I'm a closet anti-hero myself.

i'm probably going to see it, just so that i can say with surety that it blows.

when they fuck up doom's origin - and i know they're going to - a little piece of me will die.
